Well, I think I got about two more reviews to go and then I will call it a day. This time I will be reviewing the Hawaii. If you are here because you read my Hawaii2 review let me explain why told you look at this treadmill. The Hawaii is a step up from the Hawaii2. The Hawaii2 has more horsepower, a higher top speed, and the exact same console as the Hawaii. So, if you are thinking about buying the Hawaii2 go ahead and scrap that idea. In the meantime I’ll tell you whether or not the Hawaii is a good treadmill deal.

One thing that seems to be throwing me off about this treadmill is the running area. I can remember seeing a treadmill with a running area of 20″ x 56″. There’s something odd about that number and I really think LifeSpan is just trying to differentiate its treadmills from all the rest of the treadmills out there. But, for the amount of money LifeSpan want to pay for this treadmill a 20″ x 56″ running surface just won’t do. At a bare minimum you need a 58 inch running surface, or better yet a 60 inch running surface. Strike one against the Hawaii.

My other primary gripe with the Hawaii is the motor this treadmill is powered by. You get a mere 2.75 hp, that’s not enough for me if I’m going to spend $1500 on a treadmill. I really do need to see at least 3.0 hp and preferably more. To cap things off you get a measly one year labor warranty. You might have to do some shopping, but you’ll definitely be a little find a two-year labor warranty on a treadmill that retails for $1500. Smooth Fitness is generally the king when it comes to warranty length and if you’re concerned about longevity I strongly suggest you start looking at some Smooth Treadmills first.

I’m not going to say this treadmill is a complete piece of junk. This treadmill definitely has a use at its place in the fitness equipment for older people category. I’m sure I could shorten that somehow but oh well. Anyway, the reason why say this treadmill is great for senior citizens is because of the large buttons. You would not believe how many older people have called up to me complaining about the consul being too vague and overwhelming in that they can use their treadmill because they don’t know how to turn on. This treadmill is simple. That’s it, it is very easy to turn on, and it is very easy to adjust the settings. Even the buttons are very, very large making it easier for someone with poor eyesight to see what is written on the buttons or hit the slowdown button in case of an emergency.

 Final Analysis
This is not going to be one of my traditional I like it or hate it treadmill reviews. This treadmill is definitely not for the average user, however, I strongly recommend this treadmill for senior citizens or anybody who has a lot of trouble walking. The large buttons make it very easy to turn off and keep things as simple as possible. If this does not interest you I suggest you move on to some of my other treadmill reviews.
