Today I’m going to talk about one of the best looking treadmills on the market right now, the Nautilus T516 Treadmill. Talk to my favorite products look really sleek and cool. The iPod, the Toyota Matrix, and my new Netgear wireless router that I’m using to write these treadmill reviews. But, if you have read my five treadmill buying mistakes guide you know to ignore the highest, in this case the cool look of the Nautilus T516 Treadmill. Let’s get into some more substantial aspects of the Nautilus T516 Treadmill and see if this is a treadmill worth taking home.
My first look at this treadmill made me think one word, “ambition”. The paper specs on the Nautilus T516 Treadmill are incredibly impressive. This treadmill has a 3.2 hp motor which beats most treadmills in this price range, but there are a couple treadmills out there with more horsepower for the same amount of money. You get an impressive amount of programs, 26 to be exact. I really do like seeing a treadmill manufacturer include a variety of programs. Programs are key to reaching fitness goals as quickly as possible, particularly if you’re new to a cardio routine. The fitness program knows how to help you burn the most calories in the least amount of time or properly build up your endurance.
Perhaps the most impressive specification of this treadmill is the 15 mph top speed. To date, I can’t think of another treadmill that cost less than $2000 that offers such a high top speed. You probably will never need anything more than 12 mph unless you’re a professional athlete. But, it can be really fun just to try cranking up to speed on this treadmill to maximum to see how long it can last. Options are great, and I like the option to make a fool of myself in front of my friends by trying to run at 15 mph. If running at 15 mph is not enough for you, you can even give this treadmill a full 15% incline and make things even more difficult. Most treadmills in this price range have a 12% to 13% incline, the Nautilus T516 Treadmill obviously blows them out of the water.
When it comes to comfort, the most important thing to consider when buying a treadmill, this treadmill is pretty good. Smooth Fitness and Sole Fitness have the most comfortable treadmills on the market, but this treadmill definitely comes in a close 3rd place. One thing I also want to note is that this treadmill is pretty quiet. My hat is off to whoever designed this treadmill.
Final Analysis
I think I described what I think about this treadmill already; “ambitious”. Yes, this appears to be a very ambitious treadmill designed to raise the bar for every treadmill manufacturer out there. You get a very high top speed, tons and tons of programs, probably more than you could ever use. This treadmill is also very comfortable but not as comfortable as couple other treadmill brands. The other drawback to this treadmill is the slightly abridged running area coming in at 20″ x 58”. Overall this is a very strong showing from Nautilus and they really do deserve to move a lot of treadmills for this entry.
